Dave & Oner Were Chefs For 10 Years Prior To iKegger

THE ORIGINAL IDEA

One thirsty afternoon in 2015, while waiting in an overly long line for a beer in Wollongong, an idea was hatched. It would have solved the immediate problem, plus a lot of others they’d noticed after working in hospitality for a decade.

"What if we could just fill a mini keg at the bar once, then sit at our table in the sun, drinking cold bevvies, instead of wasting half the day in this queue?"

Simple. Genius.

The prototype was launched on Boxing Day 2015 and sold out in hours. (pictured)

  • Saves Time, Effort & Money

A day like this is great...

But then you remember that a cooler full of ice and a case of beer bottles weighs 25kg, and you have to go buy the ice to fill it. Then the bins at the park are always full, so you either fill the cooler with all the rubbish, cart it home again, and deal with it there. Or you leave it for someone else to deal with...

    • 24 x Corona bottles holds 8L.
    • 2 x 5L insulated kegs holds 30.
    • On tap & frosty cold for 12 hrs.
    • No need for ice or rubbish.
    • Half the weight & a quarter the size of a cooler of bottles & ice.
  • Reduces Rubbish & Pollution

Thousands of tonnes of beverage packaging materials are thrown in the bin every day. After they've been trucked, shipped and flown all over the world while being manufactured and filled. Our bushland, landfill and waterways are full of bottles, cans and the plastic and cardboard that they were wrapped in.

iKegger has donated over $10,000 to the Clean Up Australia campaign to remove existing rubbish, while preventing more being used.

Recycling is great, refilling is better, by a huge amount.

  • No More Cleaning Up Mess

If your Sunday mornings sometimes look like this, or you work in a pub or bar, you'll understand just how much many drink containers and glasses get used in a night.

If you have a few kegs of various drinks available you'll find that your morning after is a matter of throwing a few glasses in the dishwasher instead of cleaning up a disaster zone. Plus, no overflowing bins making a racket on rubbish morning!

Hosting an event? Give it a "Bring your own drinking vessel" theme and have zero cleanup to do!

iKegger Profits Cure & Treat Cancer

The iKegger founders have both been personally affected by the big C. Family and close friends have been taken from them, in many cases at far too young an age.

A substantial amount of iKegger profits are given to the Cancer Council to support research grants that would otherwise not get funding they need from the government.

So far iKegger has donated more than $50,000 and they are proud that one of the studies funded with their support is the discovery that is eradicating cervical cancer in Australia.
